Comprehensive biological screening, including: blood, semen, and saliva identifications. We now also offer Y-screening (using Plexor HY), a more sensitive alternative to traditional screening, that directly detects the presence of male DNA.

A highly efficient Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) monitors all specimens through the entire laboratory testing process, with human interaction at every step of the process.
A legal chain of custody is strictly adhered to during the entire DNA testing process. Our laboratory has become a leader in obtaining DNA profiles from evidence which previously did not yield usable data. This forensic success is based on using SoPure™, a proprietary organic extraction process exclusive to Sorenson Forensics. More DNA with fewer inhibitors is recovered with SoPure™ when compared to other DNA extraction methods. This exclusive Sorenson process delivers results when other methods have failed.

Our Roots
Sorenson Genomics, LLC, the parent company of Sorenson Forensics, was established in 2000. It is a private, highly accredited DNA laboratory specializing in providing quality DNA testing services for assesing human identity and familial relatedness. The company is ISO17025 certified for its laboratory processes, accredited to perform forensic DNA testing services and AABB accredited to perform parentage and familial DNA testing services.
In June 2007, Sorenson, utilizing its financial strength, acquired Houston-based Identigene, Inc. Identigene, established in 1993 with expertise in forensic and paternity investigations, was the first commercial laboratory to utilize STR technology for DNA analysis.
Sorenson Genomic's lab capacity is due in large part to our dedicated employees, laboratory information management systems, testing processes, lab space, and lab equipment. Sorenson has the capacity to perform more than 20,000 DNA extractions and genotypes per month.
