The Sorenson team is validated to perform forensic casework using the Applied Biosystems AmpFlSTR Profiler Plus, COfiler, Identifiler and Y-Filer kits and Promega's PowerPlex 16 kit. We use Applied Biosystems 3130xl Genetic Analyzers and analyze data with Genescan/Genotyper and GeneMapperID software.

Our experienced DNA analysts are experts at difficult mixture interpretations. This comes from our years of experience and our strictly validated stochastic thresholds we have implemented in our interpretation protocols. This demonstrates our commitment to data quality that most other private forensic labs in our industry do not employ. We feel strongly that unless you take stochastic issues into account then you can never be assured of the reliability of low level DNA profiles.

DNA testing is a highly technical process and forensic testing requires extreme accuracy, thoroughness and documentation.
